Text : Ecclesiastics 10:1-20

Ecclesiastes 10:12 The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.
Ecclesiastes 10:13 The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness.
Ecclesiastes 10:14 A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?
Ecclesiastes 10:15 The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.

The word ‘ labour ‘ is defined as ‘ work hard ‘ or ‘ striving and making effort to reach a goal ‘, I will like to bring to your consciousness that a fool is different from a lazy man, while a lazy man is anyone who tries to refrain from work, a fool is the one who labours but do not achieve his goal and if at all he does, cost him too much.

A fool makes effort , labours hard, strives toward reaching his goals but do not know how to actualize his dreams. His life is like trying to force a locked open rather than using it key, he ends up damaging the door and stressing up himself. He is also like a farmer who tilled his land under fierce sun, planted crops and after harvest sell them for peanut.

From our passage ; Ecclesiastes 10:15 The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city. The singular reason why their labour wearieth them is the fact that they don’t know how to get into the city, the city is where things happen, the city is a place of events, the city is where he will get high value for his labour, but his inability to access the city is his biggest challenge.

Many people labour too hard, some have good qualifications, but lacks ability to get into the city, when your labour does not commensurate with your income, it is most likely you are far away from your city.

* A locked mind: when you streamline yourself to a particular thing, for instance; thinking you can only be an employee and always being scared of starting something on your own.
* Inability to form a proper brand for yourself; not branding yourself or business well will limit you to a local place. Forming attractive brand will attract good people to you. God bless you.

* God give me wisdom to get to my city.
